The problem was that Theophilus was still a heretic.

Theodora pleaded with the Church to bring him back into Orthodoxy.

At the end of the first week, he was restored to the Diptych.

How could this happen? Something was good in him. He was restored to the Church, and the heresy of iconoclasm was destroyed throughout the Oecumene, both East and West.

A wife [Theodora, his widow], beseeched the Church for his soul. They fasted. Why did they fast and pray strictly for a week? They did so with success, as Theophilos was restored to the diptychs. This shows the power of prayer and fasting.

There are two things which save us. First, we abstain from all evil. But, there is another thing which we must have: the True Faith. Without that, we can not be saved.

Theophilus was in hell. But he was taken away from hell.

Only the True Church has the True Faith. Millions claim to be Christians, but are not, falsely claiming to have the True Faith.

None of us deserve to have the True Faith. But, we must thank God for it and keep that faith. Outside of here, of this room, very few have the faith. We have to redouble our prayer and fasting.

Let´s be clear: only the True Believers will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Christ makes it plain: You can´t be with me if you don´t believe as God believes. If you don´t believe the Truth.

We must lead good lives, with sins being forgiven through fasting.

We believe as the Orthodox Church positively believes, and must condemn what the Church condemns, unanimously with all the True Orthodox Christians in the World.

There is unanimity, and we are about to declare the Faith in the “Triumph of Orthodoxy”.

Nenhum de nós merece ter a Verdadeira Fé. Mas, devemos agradecer a Deus por ela e manter essa fé. Fora daqui, desta sala, muito poucos têm a fé. Temos de redobrar a nossa oração e o nosso jejum.

Sejamos claros: só os verdadeiros crentes entrarão no Reino dos Céus.

Cristo deixa-o bem claro: Não podeis estar comigo se não acreditardes como Deus acredita. Se não acreditares na Verdade.

Temos de levar uma vida boa, com os pecados a serem perdoados através do jejum.

Acreditamos como a Igreja Ortodoxa acredita positivamente, e devemos condenar o que a Igreja condena, unanimemente com todos os Verdadeiros Cristãos Ortodoxos no Mundo.

Há unanimidade, e estamos prestes a declarar a Fé no “Triunfo da Ortodoxia”.
